Tone it down

Regarding “A foolish crusade to end ICE” (Insight, July 9): Thank you for your analysis of the damage that the “Abolish ICE” movement can do to the Democrats’ chances of winning this fall. I would add that it might help Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand and Elizabeth Warren to tone down the rhetoric and try to gauge the sentiment in their own party: The loudest voices don’t necessarily represent the majority. If they are contenders for the Democratic nomination for president, they don’t have a prayer with their extreme-left stance on all issues.
