Donal Peter Cronin

June 26, 1936 - July 15, 2018

Passed in peace Sunday July 15, 2018 at the age of 82 surrounded by family. In death, he is reunited with his wife of 41 years, Maureen. Loving Father of Dan, Terrie Cardoza (Danny Tomasello) and Dermot (Jenny). Grandfather of Brian (Shannon Mooney), Tommy and Lilly. Great Grandfather of Abby. Brother of Peggy, Michael and the late John, Jerry, Mossy and Sister Elizabeth. Brother-in-law to Peggy and Oliver Sheridan. Further survived by an abundance of family and friends.

Donal was born June 26, 1936 in Watergrasshill, Ireland to Dan Cronin and Bridget Donoghue. Although he left Cork in 1964, his Irish Brogue never left him. Working his way through Canada and New York, he made his way to San Francisco where he met his beloved Maureen. Donal was devoted to his family, the Carpenters Local 22 and anything Irish. Not afraid to sing at the drop of a hat, you were likely to hear a great Irish folk song sang slightly out of tune. He loved to tell a good joke and his laugh could fill a room. He was a man of simple needs, but with a hammer, a drill and some wood, could make opulent things. Donal was a member of Carpenters Local 22 for 50+ years. Dad was never shy to take you on a tour of places he’d worked on like the Embarcadero Building, beautiful houses on Broadway Street and the Bohemian Club.

His presence, his guidance and his love will be greatly missed.

Family and friends may visit Thursday, July 19, 2018 at DUGGAN’S SERRA MORTUARY, 500 Westlake Ave, Daly City from 4:00pm to 9:00pm where a Vigil Service will begin at 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, July 20th at 10:30am at St. Roberts Church, 1380 Crystal Springs Road, San Bruno. Committal at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma.
