Army-SJSU game moved to Levi’s

San Jose State announced it is moving its Oct. 13 football home game against Army to Levi’s Stadium. Time of the game is not set.

“It’s going to be an awesome experience for our team,” San Jose State head coach Brent Brennan said in a statement released by the Spartans. “Any chance you get to play in an NFL venue like that, be in an NFL locker room, play on an NFL surface, it will be an incredible experience for our fans and our football team.”

The Army-San Jose State matchup will give Levi’s four college football games this season. The other three: the Pac-12 championsh­ip game, the San Francisco Bowl and the national championsh­ip game.

Colorado State football coach Mike Bobo, 44, has been hospitaliz­ed in Fort Collins to undergo a medical evaluation after experienci­ng numbness in his feet.

WNBA: Lindsay Whalen, who has led the Minnesota Lynx to four league championsh­ips and appeared in six All-Star Games, will retire after the season, ending her stellar 15-year career.

Whalen has been balancing a new job that begins this fall as head coach at her alma mater, Minnesota.

Pro-Am basketball: Brian Goins scored 29 points and Kyle Baxter added 16 as Bay City defeated Bay Pride 90-79 in Game 1 of the best-of-three San Francisco Bay Area Pro-Am championsh­ip series at Kezar Pavilion.

Regular-season Pro-Am MVP John Dickson led Bay Pride with 17 points. Game 2 is at 8 p.m. Wednesday night.
