Theodoros Laliotis was born in Epidavros, Greece on March 21st 1939. The youngest of four, Ted immigrated to San Francisco at the age of 19. He attended San Jose State University and UC Berkeley where he received a Master Degree in Electrical Engineerin­g. In 1966, He married Evangelia Cochila and moved to Los Altos, where they raised their sons, Ari and Tony.

Ted worked as a tech executive at HP and was a IEEE Lifetime Fellow. After his retirement, Ted pursued his passion for entreprene­urship in real estate and investment. A dedicated public servant, Ted was elected Mayor of Los Altos in 1991 and sat on City Council for many years.

Ted worked to preserve Greek Heritage and the Greek Orthodox Faith, working through the Hellenic Federation of Northern California, Elios Society, and Metropolis Council among the many other organizati­ons. He was awarded the Axion award, the Elios Cultural Award, and the Ellis Island Medal of Honor. In 2012, Ted was invested as an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarcha­te.

Ted loved spending time in Tahoe and Greece, fishing, skiing, and listening to Greek music. He will be remembered for his love of life, generosity, and dedication to his family.

Ted is survived by his wife Evangelia, sons Ari and Tony, daughters-in-law Kristy and Lisa, and grandchild­ren Emily, Katy, Grace, Anthony, and Isla Laliotis.

The Trisagion service will be held on Sunday, October 21 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Cross, 900 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont, California, 94002. The funeral service, officiated by His Eminence Metropolit­an Gerasimos, will be held Monday, October 22 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Cross. Makaria to follow the service. The burial will be private.
