Sister Constance
Madden, PBVM
Sister Constance Madden, PBVM entered eternal life on October 28, 2018 at the Presentation Motherhouse in San Francisco. A native of San Francisco, California, Sister Constance was born in1934 and was the only child of Joseph and Mary Agnes Madden. As a Sister of the Presentation for 65 years, she now leaves her loving Presentation Sisters, Presentation Associates and cousin Helen Arana.
Sister Constance was a dedicated educator and taught in Presentation schools in the (Arch) dioceses of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Jose. In 1967, she ventured forth into new ministries through parish visitation, catechetical formation and at various migrant camps.
She was also engaged in retreat ministry with the Franciscans in Santa Barbara, and with the Franciscan Center in Scottsdale, Arizona, later returning to Parish Ministry.
Most recently, Sister Constance has lived at Presentation Motherhouse where she devoted herself to the ministry of prayer.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Presentation Motherhouse, 2340 Turk Blvd., San Francisco, CA, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma.
