District 2: Antioch, Brentwood, Concord, Oakley, Pittsburg and part of unincorpor­ated Contra Costa County. Joel Keller, the incumbent, has served on BART’s board for 24 years. He is the former mayor of Antioch and a retired probation manager for Contra Costa County. Mark Foley, the challenger, is a systems analyst and union leader at East Bay Municipal Utility District.

District 4: Alameda, Oakland and San Leandro. Robert Raburn, the incumbent, is the president of the board and a longtime bicycle advocate. He has served on the body since 2010. Paul Cummings, the challenger, is a retired Navy officer.

District 6: Fremont, Hayward, Newark, Union City and part of unincorpor­ated Alameda County. Liz Ames is a civil engineer and open space advocate. Anu Natarajan is an urban planner, former Fremont city councilwom­an and chair of BART’s Measure RR Bond Oversight Committee.

District 8: San Francisco Jonathan Lyens is a senior contract analyst for the city and county of San Francisco. William Walker is a former San Francisco City College student trustee who serves on the board of San Francisco Pride. Melanie Nutter is an urban policy consultant and former director of the San Francisco Department of Environmen­t. Brian Larkin is an engineerin­g consultant who has served as chairman of the San Francisco Transporta­tion Authority’s Citizens Advisory Committee. Janice Li is the advocacy director of San Francisco Bicycle Coalition. She served on San Francisco’s Transporta­tion Task Force 2045. Eva Chao is a San Francisco business owner.
