Getzlaf ’s goal lifts Anaheim

-

Anaheim’s Ryan Getzlaf scored 27 seconds after Calgary had netted a tying goal in the third period, and the host Ducks beat the Flames 3-2 on Wednesday night.

Calgary trailed 2-0 in the first but rallied to tie it six minutes into the third on Mark Jankowski’s short-handed goal. Getzlaf then was able to corral a puck and direct a backhand through Mike Smith’s legs for the winner.

Capitals 2, Penguins 1: Braden Holtby stopped 41 shots and T.J. Oshie, who had exited the game earlier after taking a shoulder to the head from Evgeni Malkin, scored the winner at 18:46 of the third for host Washington. Malkin was ejected for his check on Oshie. Predators 4, Avalanche 1: Colton Sissons recorded his second career hat trick as Nashville beat host Colorado.
