OFFENSE

The offense hasn’t scored a touchdown in nine quarters — the first time the Raiders have gone consecutiv­e games without Carr a at touchdown quarterbac­k. with They Derek had three red-zone trips Sunday and no touchdowns. Carr has been sacked 28 times in nine games this season.

DEFENSE

three The Chargers drives of had more just than six plays. That’s a pretty good showing for the 27th-ranked defense coming into Sunday. But it couldn’t get through a game without giving up a costly big play — in this case, Melvin Gordon’s 66-yard reception for a touchdown in the third quarter.

SPECIAL TEAMS

42-yard punt Johnny was Townsend’s run arguably on a fake the highlight of the game for the Raiders. Townsend’s punting wasn’t bad, either: he averaged 54 yards and a net of 49 on three punts. Dwayne Harris finally got a chance to return but averaged 19.2 yards on five kickoffs.

COACHING

Jon Gruden left a few calls open to question — a failed jet sweep on fourth down at the 1, a late fourth-down play with only one receiving option, not riding RB Doug Martin when the game was close. The Raiders have looked vulnerable coming out of halftime for much of this season.

OVERALL

The Raiders controlled the pace of this game until a pivotal sackfumble of Carr early in the second quarter. They are one of two one-win teams remaining in the NFL and have lost their past five games by a total of 99 points. Their biggest upside now is in draft positionin­g.
