Richard J Wall

April 8 1934 – November 17, 2018

Dearly beloved husband for 55 years of Denise; beloved father of Cindy (Kirk Keene), Brick (Bill Wilson), Sandy and the late Rosemary; proud grandfather of Benjamin, Steffi, Tara, Cali and Colton; dear brother of C. Allen MD and the late Robert MD, Peter, and John MD. A 4th generation San Franciscan, graduate of Saint Ignatius College Preparatory class of 1952, and earned his BA and JD at Stanford University. He loved San Francisco and never understood why a person would want to live anywhere else.

Dick was an avid skier, jogger, and hunter who enjoyed the outdoors. He practiced private law from the early 1960’s until the day he peacefully passed away at home. Recipient of the 2012 Christ The King award, the highest honor bestowed upon an alumnus by his alma mater St. Ignatius.

The Dons basketball and Stanford football teams have lost a real fan, and SI, USF and Stanford have lost a truly distinguished alumnus. The California Republican party will also miss this long-time supporter, adviser, and self-described “political animal.”

Friends may visit Friday Nov. 23 starting at 4:00 pm at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Green and Steiner Sts., prior to the Vigil at 5:00 p, and the Funeral Mass celebrated on Saturday Nov 24 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, Dick would be honored by memorial contributions to any of the following: Richard J Wall Educational Scholarship or the Admiral Callaghan Society (both at St Ignatius College Prep 2001 37th Ave. S.F., CA 94116), or California Coastal Trail Association at coastwalk.org. Private Burial, Holy Cross Cemetery.
