TORONTO — Count Warriors head coach Steve Kerr among those who aren’t surprised that guard Stephen Curry decided to make a change to his Under Armour girls shoes after receiving a letter from a young fan from Napa.

“That’s the beauty of Steph,” Kerr said. “He understands his power. He understands the impact he can make on people’s lives. I’m just incredibly proud of him and our other guys.”

Riley Morrison, 9, recently wrote Curry a letter asking him to make sure that Curry 5s are available online for girls, not just boys. After Riley’s father, Chris, shared the letter on social media, Curry posted his response Thursday to Twitter.

“I appreciate your concern and have spent the last 2 days talking to Under Armour about how we can fix the issue,” Curry wrote. “Unfortunately, we have labeled smaller sizes as ‘boys’ on the website. We are correcting this now!”

Curry is sending Riley a pair of Curry 5s and told her that she’ll be one of the first kids to receive his new Curry 6 shoe when it drops. Additionally, Curry has invited Riley to Oracle Arena to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8.

“I think we have a team full of guys like that, but Steph stands out because of the amount of attention he receives and the adoration he gets from millions of young, teenage boys and girls every year,” Kerr said. “I love the fact that Steph is aware of the impact he can make and utilizes it for nothing but good.”

Green update: Warriors forward Draymond Green is eyeing a return toward the end of the team’s five-city trip.

Green has been dealing with a sprained right toe for three weeks. Not including the Nov. 13 win over Atlanta that he missed because of suspension, Green has been sidelined nine of the past 11 games — including the past seven in a row — by the injury.

Green hasn’t practiced in weeks, and he’ll need to work out at least a couple of times with the team before he is cleared for game action. Though he’ll almost definitely miss his homecoming game in Detroit on Saturday, Green has an outside chance to return for Monday’s game in Atlanta. It is more likely that he’ll come back Wednesday in Cleveland or Friday in Milwaukee.

“He’s been very patient,” Kerr said of Green. “I think he understands where we are. It’s still November. He tried to play through the toe injury a couple weeks back in L.A., and that made it worse. So, he recognizes that we need to get this thing better before he gets back on the floor.”
