-

Mercifully, after a lengthy illness, the Chapman Family announce the passing of our Dear Sister, Laurie, on November 25th, 2018 at Mount Hope Centre, London, Ontario.

Laurie was predeceased by her parents John Ronald Chapman and Olwen Esther Chapman.

Loving Sister of Eric (Daphne) Chapman of London, Linda (John) Talbot of Bayfield, John (Karle) Chapman of Bayfield, Susan Chapman of London, and David (Bonnie) Chapman of London. Lovingly remembered by her nieces & nephews, Victoria Wallace, Matthew Chapman, Laura Chapman, Christopher Chapman, Cala Mitra, Lee Chapman, Andrew Chapman, Jennifer Nixon, and Jamie Talbot.

After graduating from London Central Collegiate Institute Laurie went on to receive her Nursing Degree at Toronto Western Hospital. Laurie moved to San Francisco where she nursed for almost 35 years. She was well known by her patients for her professionalism and heartfelt compassion.

Laurie enjoyed friendships with so many dear friends who were always close to her heart! Laurie loved to volunteer her energy and gardening skills and cheerfully donated her time to many causes including Strybing Arboretum and Botanical Gardens in San Francisco and Hospice of London where she so enjoyed working with her wonderful Hospice friends. Laurie was also an avid hiker both in San Francisco and London where she was welcomed by the Thames Valley Trail Association.

The Family would like to thank the Staff of St. Mary’s, Mt. Hope for their compassionate care of our Dear Sister and also to Medical Priorities for their wonderful care over the years.

A Celebration of Life for Laurie will be held at a future date and a further announcement with details of this event will be shared.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to Strybing Arboretum Society (for use in the Strybing Arboretum and Botanical Gardens).
