A rare misfire for sharpshooter

Off night as Curry chases 3-point milestone

-

It’s hard to know what to believe these days.

The 1969 moon landing and walk? If Stephen Curry doesn’t believe it, can it be true? Look closely at those pictures, in the background you’ll see a Starbucks.

Now I hear Kevin Durant believes the Warriors faked their visit to the Hamptons three summers ago. Curry and the fellas didn’t really fly cross-country to court K.D. Those were holograms created in one of team co-owner Peter Guber’s movie studios. Fake love!

And now we’re supposed to believe that Curry is shootBruce ing 50 percent from beyond the three-point arc?

Going into Wednesday’s game against the Toronto Raptors, the stats say Curry was shooting 50 percent on threes, 91-for-182.

Curry came back to earth slightly Wednesday. In the Warriors’ 113-93 loss to the Raptors, he hit 2 of 8 from long range, lowering his percentage to 48.9.

Still a good number. This is Curry’s 10th season and his previous best was 45.5, in 2011-12; his career mark is 43.9. So, what’s up with the 50? “He’s maturing,” said Fraser, the Warriors’ assistant coach who works with Curry daily in shooting drills, post-practice and pregame.

That’s it? We’re all maturing.

“Misses never bothered him before,” Fraser said, “but I think they bother him less now.”

So Curry’s chill factor on three-point shooting is now below zero. His conscience has frozen over.

It does seem to this casual observer that Curry has been even less inhibited with his shooting this season. Kyle
