The Warriors and Nets have agreed on a signandtrade deal that will send guard D’Angelo Russell to Golden State on a fouryear, $117 million maximum contract, league sources have confirmed with The Chronicle.

To free up the salarycap space to turn Kevin Durant’s freeagent deal with the Nets into the arrival of Russell, the Warriors are expected to trade forward Andre Iguodala to the Grizzlies with a protected 2024 firstround draft pick, sources have confirmed.

ESPN was first to report both moves.

The 2024 pick Memphis is acquiring is protected from being within the first four pics that year, protected against being the No. 1 in 2025 and unprotected in 2026 if the pick still hasn’t become available to the Grizzlies, according to league sources.

Sunday’s deals mark the end of an era for Golden State. In his six seasons with the Warriors, Iguodala was a leader of the second unit and a capable starter when necessary. He won the NBA Finals MVP in 2015. Durant won two Finals MVP awards in his three seasons with the Warriors.

But when Durant chose Sunday to sign with Brooklyn over his other suitors — Golden State, the Knicks and the Clippers — the Warriors decided to retool on the fly. Russell, who made his first AllStar appearance in February, figures to start at shooting guard alongside point guard Stephen Curry while Klay Thompson recovers from an ACL injury that could sideline him for most — if not all — of next season.

Russell had been desired by a number of teams in the wake of point guard Kyrie Irving joining Durant with the Nets. In addition to Russell, the Warriors are expected to land Treveon Graham and Shabazz Napier in the Durant signandtrade for depth.
