Bob Weir and Wolf Bros, the Grateful Dead guitarist’s latest side project, plan to play a handful of California dates in the fall, including a stop at the new Oxbow RiverStage in Napa on Sept. 21.

The group, which also features bassist Don Was and Primus drummer Jay Lane, announced the new dates on Monday, July 15, two months after wrapping up their firstever tour.

“This is more fun than a frog in a glass of milk,” Weir said in a statement regarding the outfit that reinterprets classic Grateful Dead songs in a trio setting. “Don is all over his upright (bass), and Jay needs to somehow be kept in line at times, but it’s all falling together nicely.”

Leading up to the Napa date, Bob Weir and Wolf Bros are also scheduled to perform a show at Humphrey’s in San Diego on Sept. 18 and Majestic Ventura Theater in Ventura on Sept. 20. The band is also playing a set of previously announced and soldout shows at Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley on Aug. 13.

Presale tickets for the California shows go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 18, with the password “sharethewine.” General tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, July 19, via Ticketmaster.

Weir, who released his most recent solo album, “Blue Mountain,” in 2016, recently wrapped a summer tour with Dead & Company, his other band with John Mayer and former Grateful Dead members Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann.

The Oxbow RiverStage, a new outdoor festivalstyle venue in downtown Napa with space for up t0 4,000 attendees, is set to open with a double bill featuring the Steve Miller Band and Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives on Aug. 25. The concerts will be copromoted by Another Planet Entertainment and Blue Note Entertainment Group.
