Saints, Thomas agree on contract

The agent for New Orleans Saints leading receiver Michael Thomas says the holdout and the Saints have agreed on a fiveyear, $100 million contract.

Andrew Kessler of the agency Athletes First says the contract pays Thomas about $61 million in guaranteed salary and bonuses.

Last season, Thomas ranked first in the NFL in catches (125), sixth in receiving yards (1,405) and tied for 10th in touchdown receptions (nine).

In other NFL camp news, The Dallas Cowboys released undrafted free agent offensive lineman Larry Allen Jr., the son of former Cowboys and 49ers Hall of Fame guard Larry Allen, to make room for linebacker Justin Phillips . ... Buffalo starting center Mitch Morse is out indefinite­ly after being placed in the NFL’s concussion protocol.

NBA: Former NBA head coaches Jason Kidd and Lionel Hollins joined new head coach Frank Vogel’s staff with the Los Angeles Lakers. Kidd, a Bay Area native, Cal alum and Hall of Fame NBA guard, joins L.A. after headcoachi­ng stints in Brooklyn and Milwaukee.

Tennis: At the Silicon Valley Classic at San Jose State, Elina Svitolina, a Wimbledon semifinali­st last month, defeated Daria Kasatkina 63, 61, and CoCo Vandeweghe lost to Aryna Sabalenka 63, 63.

Soccer: Spanish League powerhouse Atlético Madrid beat Major League Soccer’s best 30 at the MLS AllStar Game in Orlando. The Quakes’ Chris Wondolowsk­i played 31 minutes as a substitute.

NHL: The Colorado Avalanche and defenseman Samuel Girard, 21, agreed to a sevenyear extension through 202627.

WNBA: AllStar Game MVP Erica Wheeler made a goahead layup with 11.9 seconds left and the host Indiana Fever beat the Atlanta Dream 6159.

Golf: Jake BeberFrank­el, a 17yearold Stanford commit who is the son of Hollywood director David Frankel, shot a 10underpar 60 in Hartford, Conn., for the lowest score in Boys Junior PGA Championsh­ip history. He is in second place after 36 holes.
