49ers (7-0) at Cardinals (3-4-1)

- — Eric Branch

When: 5:20 p.m. Where: Glendale, Ariz. TV/Radio: 2t NFL Net/104.5, 680, 107.7 Spotlight on: Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner. Remember that guy? That’s a joke, but also a nod to the fact that Buckner, who has been widely regarded as the defense’s best player, has been quiet in the past three games (no sacks, one QB hit) while linemates Nick Bosa and Arik Armstead have hogged the attention. That’s not to say Buckner has been ineffective: Bosa noted Buckner’s up-the-middle pressure led to two of his three sacks Sunday. Buckner is on pace for seven sacks after he had a career-best 12 in 2018. Said defensive coordinator Robert Saleh: “He’s going to have his days where he goes off. I still think he’s one of the better interior defensive linemen in football. He’s still, obviously, one of our better football players, if not our best football player.”

Injury notes: 49ers — LT Joe Staley (fibula) is doubtful; RB Matt Breida (ankle), RB Raheem Mostert (knee) and TE Levine Toilolo (groin) are questionable. Cardinals — RB David Johnson is questionable.

3 THINGS TO WATCH

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and tight end George Kittle have excelled on third down this season: Garoppolo has completed 15 of 15 passes to Kittle for 143 yards, netting 11 first downs.

Airzona wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald has more receptions (173), receiving yards (2,306) and receiving TDs (18) against the 49ers than any opponent in S.F. history. His 11 100-yard games against the 49ers are tied for the most by any player against one opponent in NFL history (Jerry Rice, 11 against Atlanta).

The Cardinals have added three running backs since Oct. 23: They’ve signed Alfred Morris and Zach Zenner and traded for Miami’s Kenyan Drake.
