Payton Pritchard scored 21 points and broke Oregon’s career assists record in leading the No. 11 Ducks to a 7772 victory over Cal at Haas Pavilion on Thursday night.

Chris Duarte added 19 points as Oregon (184, 72) remained on top of the Pac12 standings with the victory.

The Bears (911, 34), who led by seven midway through the second half, were led by Matt Bradley, who had 25 points.

The Ducks went ahead for good on Anthony Mathis’ 3pointer that snapped a 5858 tie with 6:53 remaining.

That basket was set up by Pritchard’s 615th career assist, setting a career mark for the Ducks. Kenya Wilkins, who played for Oregon from 1993 through ’97, held the previous record.

“It’s something I’ll remember forever,” Pritchard said of the assists record. “I can’t do that without teammates hitting shots” Pritchard was held to two points in the first half and scored 19 in the second.
