Fans with Giants and A’s tickets will be refunded or credited, the teams announced Wednesday.

After Major League Baseball gave teams the goahead to announce details for tickets not used because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Giants and A’s put out the word to their ticket holders. There are multiple options. The Giants said fans with singlegame tickets for April and May can receive a full refund to their original form of payment or receive credit to be used for 2021 tickets at, according to the Giants, “exclusive preferred pricing levels.”

There’s another plan for those with season tickets or suite, group and premium ticket holders:

Either receive an account credit and 5% bonus (based on the face value) that goes toward 2021 season renewal, use the credits for any 2020 purchases or receive a refund to the original form of payment.

The A’s emailed their ticket holders with information on how to deal with tickets for canceled games.

For A’s Access members, they can apply credits from March, April and May games to their 2021 accounts, which ensures a 5% discount for next year and also protects account holders’ status and priority when it comes to access to special events or, potentially, seats in a new ballpark.

Also, fans may request a refund for those months. Within their email, the A’s provided a link to a refund form that must be received by May 15; accounts that do not request refunds by that date automatically will receive credit for 2021.

Refunds will take 1014 business days to process.

A’s fans with singlegame tickets rather than season tickets (access plans) will automatically be offered refunds for March, April and May games.

MLB has set no official timetable for teams to return to the field. San Francisco and Alameda counties have extended shelterinplace orders through May 31.
