S.F. golf courses to reopen

-

The five public golf courses administrated by the city and county of San Francisco are eligible to reopen for business Monday, after clearing final bureaucratic hurdles Thursday afternoon, according to a San Francisco Recreation and Park Department release.

The city’s private courses, plus all courses in the Bay Area, shut down after the shelterinplace orders took effect, also will spring back to life next week, some as early as Monday.

San Francisco’s five public courses — Sharp Park, Harding Park, Lincoln Park, Gleneagles and Golden Gate — were the last to get the green light, as city and county health officials adhered to a stricter interpretation of the state sheltering rules than did other Bay Area county health departments.

Many courses are reporting a surge of reservations.
