_1 Confederate monument: A judge on Thursday indefinitely extended an injunction preventing the Virginia governor from removing a statue of Gen. Robert E. Lee from a famed avenue in the former capital of the Confederacy. Richmond Judge Bradley Cavedo made the decision after hearing from attorneys for the state and for the plaintiff in a lawsuit against Gov. Ralph Northam. Cavedo had earlier issued a 10day injunction barring Northam from removing the bronze equestrian statue of the Confederate hero. Northam ordered the statue’s removal, citing the pain gripping the nation over the killing of George Floyd.

Prosecutors brought felony murder and other charges against Garrett Rolfe, a white officer who shot Rayshard Brooks. U.S. Marshals arrested 37yearold Jenelius Crew on Thursday as he left a hotel in Miami, San Antonio police said. Detectives obtained warrants for his arrest Wednesday on eight counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The charges stem from a shooting last Friday in which a man with a rifle opened fire on people in the parking lot of a venue called Rebar. The man was part of a group turned away from the bar because they were “inebriated,” San Antonio police Chief William McManus said. Police have not provided updates on the health of the wounded.
