Virtual concert raises $7 billion

A summit staged by Global Citizen that included a starstudded virtual concert hosted by Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson has raised nearly $7 billion in cash and loan guarantees to assist the poor whose lives have been upended by the pandemic.

The event included performances by Jennifer Hudson, Miley Cyrus and Coldplay. Speakers included leaders of Canada, France, New Zealand and South Africa.
