Kapler on Breonna Taylor news
Giants manager Gabe Kapler, who has been outspoken about racial inequality and police brutality, said after Wednesday’s grand jury decision in Louisville, Ky., not to charge the three officers involved in the Breonna Taylor shooting for her death, that the system has “no answer” to the police killing.
“I don’t think it fundamentally addressed Breonna Taylor’s death nor the most important issues that led to her being shot,” Kapler told
The Chronicle. “Until we see real structural change, these sort of indictments don’t have enough meaning. Ultimately, an unarmed
Black woman was shot in the middle of the night in her own house, and our system has no answer for that happening.”
