Cardinals’ Murray looks right at home in victory in Dallas

Maybe Kyler Murray will lose a game on the Cowboys’ home field one day. It wasn’t to be Monday night, when the Arizona quarterback watched the star running back of his hometown team have another night of fumbleitis.

Murray accounted for three touchdowns in his first game back home as a pro, Dallas’ Ezekiel Elliott set up the visiting Cardinals’ first two TDs with fumbles, and visiting Arizona won 3810 .

The speedy quarterback, who won three high school championships and a Big 12 title at the home of the Cowboys, improved to 70 as a starter at AT& T Stadium. He threw for two scores, despite a rough start through the air, and rushed for 74 yards and a TD.

“That’s not easy when that’s what everyone has been talking about all week,” coach Kliff Kingsbury said. “He’s probably had this one circled on his calendar since it came out. But I thought he handled himself well.”

Fired after six seasons at Texas Tech in 2018 without any winning records in Big 12 games, Kingsbury has the Cardinals ( 42) tied for second place in the tough NFC West. Arizona is above .500 this late in the season for the first time since 2015, its most recent playoff year.

Andy Dalton had the rest of Dallas’ four turnovers with two interceptions in his first start for the Cowboys ( 24) in place of injured star Dak Prescott, just down the road from where he had a standout career at TCU.

Chiefs beat Bills: Clyde Edwards Helaire showed new teammate Le’Veon Bell and the rest of the NFL how dominant the Chiefs’ running attack is already.

The rookie had 161 yards rushing and Patrick Mahomes threw two touchdown passes to Travis Kelce, leading the visiting Chiefs to a 2617 win over the Bills in a game originally scheduled for last Thursday.

Mahomes finished 21 of 26 for 225 yards. His first scoring toss to Kelce was the 90th of his career in his 37th game, breaking the NFL record for fewest games to 90 TD passes ( Dan Marino, 40).

Darrel Williams scored on 13yard run to cap a nearly eightminute, 82yard drive that gave the Chiefs a 2010 lead with 1: 18 left in the third quarter, effectively sealing the game.

The Chiefs are off to a their third 51 start in four seasons, and they bounced back from a sloppy 4032 loss to the Raiders.

Last week, Kansas City added another weapon to its highpowered offense by signing Bell a few days after he was cut by the Jets. Bell is expected to make his debut this weekend at Denver.

“I can’t wait,” Bell tweeted during the game.

Michaels OK with masks: Al Michaels wants to make it clear that he’s not opposed to masks and wears them daily. Michaels clarified his stance to The Chronicle because his words in the Oct. 4 “Sunday Night Football” broadcast of a 49ers game were seen by some as anti mask.

Sunday, during the 49ers Rams game, Michaels and partner Cris Collinsworth wore masks and didn’t comment about them. That was different from two weeks earlier.

Michaels said his discomfort then came because no other stadium has asked broadcasters to wear masks in the booth. He said the NBC crew is tested twice a week, and he is tested three times.

— Ann Killion Briefly: Rookie cornerback Damon Arnette went onto the reserve/ COVID19 list, the second Raider this season ( DT Maurice Hurst has returned to practice). … The Eagles are likely to face the Giants on Thursday without injured running back Miles Sanders ( knee) and tight end Zach Ertz ( ankle). Ertz, the former Stanford standout, could be out four weeks. … An MRI confirmed left tackle Taylor Lewan tore his ACL in the Titans’ win over Houston on Sunday. … A source told the Associated Press that league and players union officials have found that the virus stricken Titans failed to wear masks at all times and were “insufficiently clear” to players about meeting or working out.
