Lakers reportedly to get Schröder

A wild few days of decisions and player movement await in the NBA as teams may begin making trades Monday, according to a memo sent to teams and obtained early Sunday by the Associated Press.

The first deal known to be tentativel­y agreed upon would send guard Dennis Schröder from Oklahoma City to the champion Los Angeles Lakers for Danny Green and the No. 28 pick in Wednesday’s draft, a person with knowledge of that agreement said.

That trade is likely to be finalized after the draft, the person said Sunday on condition of anonymity because the swap cannot be formally announced until it is completed and has league approval. ESPN first reported the details of the trade.

The “temporary transactio­n moratorium” across the league ends at 9 a. m. PST Monday, the league told teams. Also officially due Monday: AllNBA forward Anthony Davis’ decision on his $ 28.7 million option year with the Lakers, one that he formally will decline in favor of signing a longterm and hugemoney contract with that club.

The Cleveland Cavaliers said they have spoken to guard Kevin Porter Jr. following his arrest early Sunday on weapons possession. Porter, a 2019 firstround draft pick, faces charges of improperly handling firearms in a vehicle, according to Mahoning County sheriff records. He was released on $ 4,000 bond.

Tennis: Dominic Thiem outlasted Stefanos Tsitsipas in a rematch of the 2019 ATP Finals championsh­ip match, beating the defending champion 76 ( 5), 46, 63 in the opening singles match inside a largely empty O2 Arena in London. In the late match, Rafael Nadal had a much easier time against Andrey Rublev, beating the Russian 63, 64 in 1 hour, 17 minutes.

Aryna Sabalenka beat Elise Mertens 75, 62 to win the seasonendi­ng Upper Austria Ladies Linz for her third title of the season.

The Australian Open and all the regular interstate leadup tournament­s for the season’s first tennis major will be staged in Melbourne in January in a bid to minimize risks for players traveling and quarantini­ng during the coronaviru­s pandemic.

Coronaviru­s: Syracuse head basketball coach Jim Boeheim has tested positive for the novel coronaviru­s, and the Orange have paused all team activities.

1 Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s administra­tion ordered high schools and colleges to stop inperson classes and suspended organized sports — including the state football playoffs — in a bid to curb spiking coronaviru­s cases. Profession­al sports and some college sports are allowed, with enhanced testing. The restrictio­ns begin Wednesday and will last three weeks.

Obituary: Ray Clemence, the England goalkeeper who won every major European and English title with Liverpool and Tottenham, has died. He was 72. Clemence had been living with advanced prostate cancer since 2005.
