With victory, UCLA claims Pac12 lead

Jules Bernard scored 11 of his 19 points in the second half to help UCLA defeat host Utah 7661 on Thursday night and move into first place in the Pac12 standings.

Johnny Juzang added 18 points, Cody Riley had 15 points and Jaime Jaquez Jr. 11 for the Bruins (175, 133) in their fourth consecutiv­e win.

Branden Carlson scored 17 points to lead Utah (911, 610), which has lost four in a row. Colorado 80, #19 USC 62: Jeriah Horne scored 24 points and McKinley Wright IV had 15 points and 14 assists as the host Buffaloes (18-7, 12-6 Pac-12) beat the Trojans (19-5, 13-4), dropping USC behind UCLA. Evan Mobley had 13 points for USC.

Arizona State 80, Washington 72: Remy Martin scored 31 points and Kimani Lawrence added 21 points and 20 rebounds for the host Sun Devils (9-11, 6-8 Pac-12). Quade Green had 16 points for the Huskies (5-19, 4-15).

Arizona 69, Washington State 53: James Akinjo scored 19 points as the host Wildcats (16-8, 10-8) topped the Cougars (14-11, 7-11).

#3 Michigan 79, #9 Iowa 57: Franz Wagner scored 21 points, Isaiah Livers had 16 points and Hunter Dickinson 14 points as the host Wolverines (17-1, 12-1 Big Ten) won. Luka Garza had 16 points for the Hawkeyes (17-7, 11-6), who shot a season-low 35.6% from the field.

Michigan State 71, #4 Ohio State 67: Aaron Henry had 18 points and the host Spartans (13-9, 7-9 Big Ten) rallied from a nine-point, second-half deficit to beat the Buckeyes (18-6, 12-6). E.J. Liddell had 18 points for Ohio State.

#5 Illinois 86, Nebraska 70: Kofi Cockburn scored 24 points and Adam Miller added 18 as the host Illini (17-6, 13-4 Big Ten), playing without leading scorer Ayo Dosunmu (broken nose), beat the Cornhusker­s (5-17, 1-14).

#12 Houston 81, Western Kentucky 57: Quentin Grimes scored 33 points to lead the host Cougars (19-3) past the Hilltopper­s (15-5), who had won six in a row. #22 San Diego State 78, Boise State 66: Matt Mitchell scored 24 points, including four in overtime, and the host Aztecs (18-4, 12-3 Mountain West) edged the Broncos (18-5, 14-4) after blowing a 17-point second-half lead.
