Wise fires 64 again, leads by 3

Aaron Wise shot his second straight 6under 64 on Friday to take a threestrok­e lead into the weekend at the Honda Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. The 128 total is the lowest 36hole score at PGA National since the tournament moved there 15 years ago — and marks the first 36hole lead of Wise’s PGA Tour career.

“It’s two great rounds of golf and I love that, and I love that I’m playing good,” Wise said. “But this place can get to you pretty quick and there’s a lot of golf left ahead and a lot of trouble out there.”

He had two eagles to highlight the day, his first two of 2021. Cal alum Brandon Hagy (62) and firstround leader Matt Jones (70) were tied for second.

⏩ Scott Hend shot a 7under 64 and Kalle Samooja carded a 66, leaving them tied for the lead at 11under after two rounds of the European Tour’s Kenya Open in Nairobi.

Soccer: UEFA will investigat­e claims that a player from Scottish champion Rangers was racially abused by a Slavia Prague opponent in a Europa League match. Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara, who is Black, accused Ondrej Kudela of uttering a racist remark Kudela said he used offensive but not racial language.

College baseball: Brendan Beck struck out 11 in eight innings and held Utah (39) to two runs on three hits as Stanford (112) picked up a 42 win at Sunken Diamond in the Pac12 opener for both teams . ... At Evans Diamond, Cal Baptist’s Chris Burica threw an eighthitte­r and struck out eight as the Lancers (114) rolled to a 70 win over Cal (107), which committed four errors.
