-

Phyllis Teresa Moylan, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and Irish Bread Connoisseur, died peacefully, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, on March 21, 2021.

Phyllis was devoted to her loving husband, John Joseph Moylan who passed on February 4, 2021, and her spirit is carried on by her beloved seven children: Maura, Kevin (Nancie), Michael (Sue), Brendan (Jessica), Patricia (Tim), Teresa (Brad), and Eileen (Gavin); her 18 grandchildren, 19 great Grandchildren, brother Jim Doyle, sister Patricia McDonald and many cousins, nieces and nephews in Ireland and America.

Phyllis was born Teresa Philomena Doyle on July 3, 1930 to John and Bridget Doyle in Co. Wexford, Ireland. She was blessed with a healthy and happy life before coming to America at age 17 to live with her cousins, the Bernie’s. Here she met her match in John Moylan who pursued her relentlessly until she said “I do” in September of 1956. They settled down and created a loving home for the seven children that would soon arrive. Phyllis never forgot her roots and large family in Ireland. She returned whenever she could and loved them all so very much.

She loved and served her adopted city of San Francisco by volunteering for decades at St Anthony’s Dining room and Laguna Honda Hospital. She received the St Brigid of Ireland

Humanitarian Award at the national Ancient Order of Hibernians conference in 2010. She also could be found actively supporting her husband and children in whatever causes they supported.

Phyllis famously welcomed family and friends into their home with the aroma of Ireland in the air with her delicious Irish Bread. It meant love to her children and grandchildren. She is gone but never forgotten. Rest in Peace now sweet Phyllis. John called you home and John Moylan always got his way!
