In a sign that things may be returning to normal by the fall, James Taylor and His AllStar Band, with fellow singersongwriter Jackson Browne, announced new dates for their previously postponed tour of the United States, including a stop at Chase Center this fall.

Postponed twice — from May 27, 2020, then rescheduled to May 26, 2021 — the San Francisco show is now set for Oct. 29.

Tickets for the previously scheduled concerts will be honored for the new date. Those unable to attend in October are advised to reach out to their point of purchase for information on refunds.

“Jackson and I want to thank all those who have graciously held onto their tickets; we appreciate your continued patience as we navigate these uncharted waters,” Taylor and Browne said in a joint statement. “We didn’t want to have to cancel this tour that we’ve been waiting so long to perform together, so we’ve been working to get these dates rescheduled to a time period when the U.S. is reopened and safe to gather for a concert.

“Of course, we will be keeping a close eye and abide with all health and safety protocols throughout each venue and state.”

Taylor, a fivetime Grammy winner, last appeared in the Bay Area in 2017 when he performed with Bonnie Raitt at AT&T Park.

Browne, who has performed at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in the past, announced ahead of last year’s original tour dates that he had tested positive for the coronavirus. He has since recovered.

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29 concert are available now at www.ticket master.com and range from $49.50 to $149.50 for reserved seating.
