-

Arthur Elston Gimmy passed peacefully on July 1, 2021 at his home in Bodega Bay with his wife, Mary, and daughters, Lisa and Laura, at his bedside. He was born in Hollywood, CA on August 19, 1930. Truly a star and a gentleman. Parents were Nettie and Carl Gimmy. He was the older brother to Robert Gimmy and Nancy Anderson. During the Korean conflict he was stationed stateside in Air Force telecommunications. Art was an athlete and a runner. His love of the ocean and beach were present from his early teenage years and culminated as a diver and collector for the Steinhart Aquarium in San Francisco. A graduate of Hollywood High School, UCLA and a lifetime member of the Appraisal Institute, MAI., Art was one of those blessed individuals whose career path as a commercial appraiser and expert witness became a passion and a joy. He was the CEO of AGI Valuations and ultimately relocated after years in San Francisco to Petaluma. Art’s love of reading, especially history and crime novels, spiked his curiosity for travel adventures around the world. He was the patriarch to a blended family: wife, Mary, Lisa Gimmy and Claus Best, Laura and James Helton, Martha and Michael Porter, Therese and Scott Smith. Grandchildren, Emily and Aaron Foor, Rose Ashbach and Diego Martinez, Chanel and Will Condon, John and George Porter and Geno Oliva. Great Grandchildren, Noah, Haley, Allison and Asher Foor, Oliver and Lucas Martinez, Willow and newly arrived Kit Condon. We will always remember your guidance and generosity. Your bright blue eyes and constant smile are engraved in our hearts. We will never forget all the family good times because of you.
