The highest-paid offensive lineman in NFL history limped off the field near the end of Monday’s practice, but 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan

said the training staff “didn’t seem overly concerned” about the injury to Trent Williams.

In fact, Shanahan didn’t even know if Williams’ injury was a hip or knee immediately after the left tackle got clipped and held his right leg as Jimmy Garoppolo handed the ball to Raheem Mostert.

Williams, who signed a six-year, $138.6 million deal in March, managed his way to the sideline under his own power and joined the teamwide huddle when practice closed minutes later. Shanahan said further medical evaluations were to be done Monday night.

If Williams misses any time, the 49ers would suddenly be very light at the offensive tackle opposite Mike McGlinchey. Justin Skule will miss the season with a torn ACL, rookie Aaron Banks is expected to miss two to three weeks with a shoulder injury, reserve left tackle Shon Coleman is dayto-day with a knee injury, and rookie Jaylon Moore is probably more equipped to play guard for the long-term.

That leaves an list of unproven potential replacements, including Tom Compton, Colton McKivitz, Corbin Kaufusi and Alfredo Gutierrez.

Still, Shanahan said he isn’t worried about the 49ers’ offensive line depth since Dan Brunskill, who is slated to start at right guard, could also play tackle.

Quarterback competition: Jimmy Garoppolo won the day after opening the practice 2-of-7, including an interception that made linebacker Fred Warner look like the intended receiver. The incumbent quarterback, working solely behind the first-team offensive line, bounced back by finishing with 10 straight completions, highlighted by a perfectly placed rainbow to George Kittle on the left sideline and a touchdown toss to Mohamed Sanu.

Rookie Trey Lance completed fewer than half of his passes during the final 11-on-11 session and missed an open Ross Dwelley on a pass that was intercepted by Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.

Briefly: The 49ers expect defensive end Nick Bosa (ACL) to be a full participant in practices next week . ... Defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw, already working back from off-season knee cleanup surgery, is expected to miss Sunday’s preseason game against the Chargers with a shoulder injury, according to Shanahan . ... Receiver Austin Watkins Jr., who broke his foot during the first preseason game, will go on injured reserve to take the 49ers to 86 players. They’ll need to trim to 85 before Tuesday’s deadline after waiving linebacker
