Arlene Murison Robins

When she married her high school sweetheart (Jan 1956), she knew she was signing up for a life of adventure. John Richard (Dick) Robins, as a newly minted naval officer, whisked her away, for four years, to Hawaii, just a year after their first child, Ronald David (Ron) Robins was born in 1957. There, they were blessed with their daughter Donna Robins Moran in 1960.

Other overseas assignments took Arlene and family to mainland Japan and also Okinawa. In all, the family moved over 15 times over a span of 27 years. During those years, she was the one that kept everyone on an even keel, patiently and lovingly creating a new home and life wherever the fair winds took them.

Arlene Edna Murison was born in Berkley CA on Jan 6, 1935 to George Lunan Murison and Lillian Beatrice Murison (Lindquist). She was the fourth and last of their children, Donald, Jean, and Florence, all deceased. She grew up on Cornell Ave in Albany CA, graduating from Albany High School in 1952. She is survived by Ron (wife, Jody), Donna (fiancé, Barry Broadus), her grandchildren Daniel, Matthew, and Claire Robins; and many loving nieces and nephews.

After 24 years in Severna Park MD, in 1997, Dick and Arlene retired to Napa CA where they built a beautiful home and gardens in the hills overlooking vineyards. Dick passed away in 2007, but not until they had ten wonderful years together enjoying their many friendships, and the festivals and fruits of the valley.

Arlene was a very kind soul; giving of herself generously to friends, family, and charities. Those that were fortunate enough to know her saw a strong woman that radiated grace, dignity, civility, and beauty. Although we miss her, we realize that she is with the Lord now, and reunited with the love of her life.

She died peacefully on Aug 20th at Queen of the Valley Hospital, Napa. Her graveside services are Friday Aug 27th at Sunset View Cemetery in El Cerrito CA (11:30 AM) . In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to make a donation to any organization close to your own heart.
