Jacquelyn “Jackie” Riordan was surrounded by her children and grandchildren until she passed peacefully on August 21, 2021. She left a loving family: Kerry (Peter Sykes), Michael (Kori), and Sean (Angela) and six beautiful grandchildren: Kelly, Jack, Reilly, Samantha, Caeli, and Conor. She was predeceased by her wonderful husband of 45 years, John “Jack” Michael Riordan, who was an attorney.

Jackie was born in Sacramento, California to Ralph and Mabel Jones, where she lived until she moved to San Francisco for a job bookkeeping for the State Department. While working downtown, she met her husband Jack and was swept off her feet. She and Jack married when they went to Arizona for the SF Giants Spring Training. They lived on Broadway until they moved to Forest Hill Extension, where they started and raised their family.

Jackie loved to play bridge with the LCA (Little Children’s Aid) women, her church groups, and the Olympic Club, where she was a spousal member. She was president of LCA and volunteered for Catholic Charities. She also truly enjoyed her volunteer work for the St. Brendan Mothers’ Club while her children attended school there.

Jackie and Jack loved to vacation at the Russian River with their family and friends, but she especially liked travelling to Hawaii! Jackie and Jack were also famous for their Christmas Eve parties, where everyone was welcome.

She loved her children, her daughters-in-law and son-in-law, grandchildren and family pups. She instilled in her children that family must always come first, which continues to resonate with each family member. She always reminded us that we are blessed to have each other because that is the greatest gift in life.

She was also very grateful for her fabulous caregiver Cathy and all her magnificent caregivers, who took such great care of her.

A vigil will be held at St. Brendan Church, 29 Rockaway Avenue, San Francisco on Friday, August 27, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Brendan Church.
