Ex-49er Witherspoo­n traded to Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers acquired cornerback Ahkello Witherspoo­n from the Seattle Seahawks for a fifth-round pick in the 2023 draft.

Witherspoo­n spent his first four seasons with the 49ers after being taken in the third round of the 2017 draft. He signed a oneyear deal with Seattle in May.

The Steelers released defensive lineman Henry Mondeaux.

In other moves, the Falcons signed former Raiders wide receiver Keelan Doss, a UC Davis and Alameda High School alum, and former Bears linebacker James Vaughters (Stanford) . ... The Dolphins signed rookie linebacker Milo Eifler, a Bishop O’Dowd-Oakland alum who made 17 starts for Illinois over the previous two seasons . ... The Jaguars signed tight end Jacob Hollister, three days after Buffalo released the fifth-year pro . ... Jets wide receiver Jamison Crowder was placed on the COVID-19 list. NBA: Seven-time All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge rejoined the Brooklyn Nets, five months after having to retire because of an irregular heartbeat.

Center DeAndre Jordan, one of the pillars of the Clippers rebuild from afterthoug­ht into perennial playoff team, will likely return to Los Angeles — this time with the Lakers. Jordan, who was dealt from Brooklyn to Detroit on Friday, reportedly has accepted a contract buyout from the Pistons, paving the way for him to land with the Lakers once he clears waivers.
