Harissis “Harry” Veizades (July 26, 1931 - September 3, 2021) fell asleep in the Lord after a long and joyful life. Born in Larissa, Greece and immigrated to San Francisco in 1951 where he attended San Francisco City College prior to completing his Masters Degree in Civil engineerin­g from CAL Berkeley. A devoted and loving husband to Tancho for 62 years. Loving father who cared deeply for the wellbeing of his children and a caring Papou to his grandchild­ren. An excellent engineer who leaves a legacy of an internatio­nally respected engineerin­g firm, Veizades & Associates, Inc. A life-long supporter of the Greek Orthodox Church. He helped countless people through his wisdom, kind words and generosity. His enthusiasm for life and gift of telling meaningful personal stories enriched us all. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Harry. His perfect spanakopit­a accompanie­d with a glass of Plomari Ouzo while sitting with Tancho and listening to music was the start of a great evening. He is preceded in death by his parents Eoannis and Stelliani and his brother Nicholas. He is survived by family and friends in the San Francisco Bay Area, in his homeland of Greece, and Tancho’s homeland of El Salvador. Harry will be missed by his wife and life-long partner Tancho, his children, daughter-inlaw’s and grandchild­ren, John and Lisa Veizades and children Nicholas, James and Stefan; Jeannette Diaz and daughter Tarafina; Henry and Sheila Veizades and children Gregory and Michael. Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 9th at 11:00AM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 999 Brotherhoo­d Way, San Francisco, followed by internment at the Greek Orthodox Memorial Park in Colma. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in San Francisco or Habitat for Humanity.
