Jeannette Catherine Beeler passed away at her home on November 4, 2021 at the age of 83. Loving mother of Julie Magnus (David) and Shirley Beeler (Matt Roycroft); daughter of the late John and Hilda Maglio; sister of Joanne Franchi. She also leaves behind niece Monica Bicalho (Alex), grand-niece Sofia Bicalho, and nephew John Franchi, and will be fondly remembered by neighbors and friends.

A native San Franciscan and lifelong Mission Terrace District resident, Jeannette was born on January 26, 1938. She graduated from ICA High School and then the San Francisco College for Women (Lone Mountain).

She was a devoted and caring mother, reading to her children when they were young and taking annual family trips to Disneyland and Lake County. The role of a teacher was the one she most enjoyed after that of being a mother. Jeannette formed a very powerful bond with her students at Corpus Christi and St. John’s school, where she also served as Vice Principal. Her monthly field trips were the highlight of many a fourth grader’s school year. She taught generations of families over her 35-year teaching career and she continued to teach catechism at St. John’s parish, even after her retirement, and volunteered doing liturgical readings and delivering the sacrament to the homebound. Her faith sustained her throughout her life.

She enjoyed cheering on her two favorite sports teams, the 49ers and the Giants, for several decades, accumulating many mementos along the way. She was a member of the

Italian American Social Club and served as secretary. She also enjoyed traveling across the United States with her daughters, and then overseas to the Holy Land, Europe, and Canada with her church group.

Through her decades of teaching and participation in her church community, she made a positive impact on many lives. This sweet and loving lady will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
