The Giants made the Alex Cobb signing official Tuesday night, a two-year, $20 million deal with a 2024 club option.

With Cobb aboard and Anthony DeSclafani re-signing last week for three years and $36 million, the Giants’ rotation goes three-deep featuring ace Logan Webb.

Lefty Alex Wood is expected to re-sign as well. With a lockout expected after the current labor agreement expires Wednesday night, the Giants mostly are done rebuilding their rotation. With former ace Kevin Gausman now a Blue Jay (five years, $110 million), there will be one vacancy once Wood’s deal is final.

Cobb will make $9 million in both 2022 and 2023. The option is for $10 million with a $2 million buyout.

A 34-year-old right-hander, Cobb pitched for the Angels last season and went 8-3 with a 3.76 ERA in 18 starts. A wrist injury limited him in the second half, but he impressed the Giants by averaging 9.45 strikeouts per nine innings while yielding just 0.48 home runs per nine, the fourth lowest mark among starting pitchrs who threw at least 90 innings.

Cobb, who relies on a sinker-splitter combination and throws a fastball in the low 90s, owns a 3.87 career ERA over a 10-year career that spans from the Rays to the Orioles to the Angels. Injuries have sidetracked his career — he made just 31 starts the past three seasons and missed most of 2019 with hip, back and groin injuries.

As part of the contract, Cobb will make annual donations to the Giants Community Fund, $45,000 the first two years and $50,000 if he’s back in 2024.
