Cal men fall at Utah; USF women rally for victory at USC

Both Gach scored 19 points and Lazar Stefanovic came off the bench to knock down three second-half 3-pointers as Utah took control after intermissi­on to beat Cal 66-58 in Salt Lake City on Sunday.

Cal (4-5, 1-1 Pac-12) led 35-29 at halftime, but Utah (6-2, 1-1) opened the second half with a 10-0 run to take the lead for good.

Jordan Shepherd had 14 points to lead Cal. Grant Anticevich had 12 points and a gamehigh 10 rebounds. The Utes held forward Andre Kelly, the Bears' leading scorer this season at 15.2 points per game, to four.

Krimili sparks USF to victory at USC

USC scored the first 10 points of the game, but USF rode a 29-point performanc­e by Ioanna Krimili to a 78-63 win in Los Angeles.

Krimili went 9-for-21 from the floor, including 6-for-14 from beyond the arc. She hit all five of her free-throw attempts.

The Dons (5-4) also got double-figure scoring from Amalie Langer (13 points), Claudia Langarita (12) and Kennedy Dickie (11).

Tera Reed had 15 points and nine rebounds for the Trojans (5-3).

Arkansas 84, Cal 67: The Bears enjoyed a nine-point lead midway through the second quarter at Arkansas, but the Razorbacks rallied and coasted to the victory.

The Bears' Jazlen Green converted three foul shots with 6:37 left in the second period to give Cal a 26-17 edge. Arkansas (7-2) outscored the Bears 23-7 for the rest of the quarter to take a 40-33 at halftime. The Razorbacks led throughout the second half.

Makayla Daniels poured in a game-high 32 points for Arkansas. Jayda Curry led the Bears with 18 points. Green added 16.

Cal (6-2) got called for three technical fouls and the Razorbacks had a distinct advantage at the foul line. They went 29for-32. The Bears were 10-for-12.

UCLA 112, San Jose State 33:

At Pauley Pavilion, Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep alum IImar'I Thomas scored 32 points and Natalie Chou had 31 as the Bruins (5-2) overwhelme­d the Spartans (3-6). UCLA outscored San Jose State 27-0 in the second quarter.
