Lisa Anne Calegari

April 21, 1969 - November 17, 2021

-

Lisa passed away peacefully on November 17, 2021, with her loving father and brother by her side. Lisa was a San Francisco native, born on April 21, 1969 at St. Mary’s Hospital to Stephen Calegari and Marsha Calegari.

She attended grammar and high school at the Convent of the Sacred Heart. She then attended the University of Arizona where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority.

She later enrolled in the San Francisco Art Institute where she refined her talents as a painter and sculptor. In the years that followed, she became a gifted photographer, capturing memories of friends’ weddings and children, unique landscapes, and intricate industrial designs.

Lisa worked as a sales associate in the fine jewelry department at Tiffany & Co. in downtown San Francisco. In 2006, she left Tiffany to work alongside her dear friend, Peter Billeci, owner of Nick’s Crispy Tacos on Polk Street. She enjoyed her time there until her multiple sclerosis made it difficult for her to continue.

Lisa was filled with warmth and kindness for everyone she met. Her friends and family knew her as someone with boundless generosity who shared her gifts unconditionally: her sharp wit, loyal support, compassion, and even her creative spirit. Her art— which she gave freely to those she loved—lives on throughout the Bay Area and beyond, prized not only for its beauty, but also for the amazing woman who created it.

She leaves behind her grieving father and mother, her brother (Mark) and his family in Alabama, many dear friends and a host of incredible classmates from the Convent.

Donations in Lisa’s memory can be made to either the women’s charity DressForSuccess.org or to the NationalMSSociety.org. A memorial service will be planned in the future.
