Man City eliminates Swindon in FA Cup
Manchester City easily coped without seven coronavirus-infected players in eliminating fourthtier club Swindon 4-1 on the road to open the third round of the FA Cup.
City still was able to deploy a lineup packed with international players including the first three scorers — Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus and Ilkay Gundogan. Cole Palmer, 19, scored the fourth after Harry McKirdy scored past goalkeeper Zack Steffen to pull one back for Swindon.

The first game after the league’s winter break was in doubt due to a host of infections at both clubs with Bayern particularly hard hit. League authorities decided the club had enough strength in depth to play.
Tennis: Novak Djokovic isn’t alone in having his visa canceled after flying in for the Australian Open without the required evidence to support a medical exemption to the country’s strict COVID-19 vaccination rules.
In an email to the Associated Press, the border force said following investigations into two other cases of people connected to the Australian Open “one individual has voluntarily departed Australia … and the visa of a third individual has been canceled.”

WNBA: Sue Bird, the WNBA’s all-time assist leader, acknowledged that she’s returning to Seattle next season in posts on Instagram and Twitter. The 41year-old point guard had been considering whether to retire or play a 19th season.
Colleges: Murray State will become the 11th member of the Missouri Valley Conference on July 1, leaving the Ohio Valley Conference. The MVC does not include football, so Murray State is working to join the Missouri Valley Football Conference in that sport. Murray State’s rifle program, which is sixth in the nation, will continue competing in the OVC.
