Theresa Mary Murphy

Murphy, Theresa Mary – entered into rest May 9, 2022 in San Francisco. Terry was born to Richard and Mary Richardson on January 9, 1934. She grew up in San Francisco and attended St. James Elementary School and ICA Academy. Terry was proud of her family’s Irish heritage and would often reminisce about the happy times of her childhood in the Mission district, with her Mom and Dad, her siblings, and the many neighborhood families and friends.

In 1964 Terry married her beloved and fun-loving husband Bill and they settled in South San Francisco, where they created a loving home for their own family of four children. “Bill and Terry” were blessed with 52 happy years together before Bill’s passing in 2016.

Terry’s grace, kind nature, thoughtfulness, and warm personality made her a joy to be around. Her strong faith in God was her life’s guiding light, she prayed the Rosary daily, and was especially devoted to the Blessed Mother. To her family, Terry was the center of their whole world.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, infant daughter Mary Bernadette, brother Tim Richardson, twin brothers Dick and John Richardson, and sister Jayne Richardson. Terry is survived by her twin sister, Mary Richardson; her children Bill (Alicia), Mary Kate, Trish (Tyson), and Tim; her granddaughter Stella; many Richardson and Murphy nieces and nephews; and her cousins in Ireland.

Friends may visit between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 19 at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave, Daly City, where a Vigil Service will be said at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered Friday, May 20, 10:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1310 Bayswater Ave., Burlingame.
