The Golden State Warriors recalled rookie Patrick Baldwin Jr. from Santa Cruz on Monday, just in time for a homecoming game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Baldwin, like Jordan Poole and Kevon Looney, is from Milwaukee and played his lone season of college basketball at Wisconsin-Milwaukee with his father as his coach (he averaged 12.1 points and 5.8 rebounds in 11 games).

Golden State's Milwaukee ties don't end there: Donte DiVincenzo played his first four NBA seasons with the Bucks before getting traded to Sacramento last season.

Baldwin returns to the Warriors with a hot hand, coming off arguably his best performance in the G League. On Sunday against the Oklahoma City Blue, he had 25 points on 9-for-12 shooting (6-for-9 from 3-point range) with six rebounds in 30 minutes. He was plus-12 in an 11-point Santa Cruz win.

Baldwin, 20, is averaging 10.6 points, five rebounds and 1.2 assists in nine games with Santa Cruz. The 28th pick in this year's draft has appeared in just four games with Golden State.

Wiggins update: Forward Andrew Wiggins, who has been sidelined for more than a week with an adductor strain, is “making good progress,” according to the team, and will be re-evaluated Thursday.

That means Wiggins, who missed the past three games, also will sit out Tuesday's game against the Bucks and Wednesday's in Indianapolis. The Warriors are off Thursday before continuing the sixgame trip — their longest of the season — Friday in Philadelphia.

Wiggins is averaging 19.1 points (on 51.1% shooting), 5.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists in his fourth season with the Warriors.
