LeeRoy Kloezeman

-

It’s been one year since we lost our beloved LeeRoy to a devastating struggle with a rare neurological disease, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). He passed on February 17, 2022, just a few days before his 66th birthday.

LeeRoy was born on February 20, 1956 in San Francisco, CA. Raised by his mother Clemencia and big sister Annabelle, LeeRoy spent his childhood between South San Francisco and Costa Rica. He attended Serra High School and went on to play football at Washington State University before moving back to the Bay Area where he worked for 30+ years as a financial advisor.

LeeRoy was a dedicated husband, brother, father, grandfather, coach and friend. He was fiercely loyal to the people he loved, a quality he learned from his mother and sister, and is shared by his wife, Mary Jo, and his children Chloé, Colin, Kelsey and Kylie. LeeRoy had a deeply curious and questioning nature. From sports to fashion to ornithology (yes, ornithology), he was always exploring, forever learning. He loved music, and would constantly pop quiz his kids with, “Who sings this song?”. Teasing was his love language, and he could make a mean margarita. He was unapologetically competitive and loved a late night card game. And when LeeRoy laughed, the whole room warmed up. His beautifully big presence is deeply missed, and we’ll carry him with us always.

Thank you so much for taking the time to remember LeeRoy with us. We invite you to share memories, stories, and/or photos on this website for all to see. If you feel inclined to make a donation in LeeRoy’s honor, please consider donating to Death with Dignity.
