Foo Fighters will make their first Bay Area appearance since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins as one of the headliners of the 2023 Outside Lands festival this summer.

Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar and electronic music duo Odesza — the first electronic dance music act to top the bill on the San Francisco festival’s main stage — are also slated to join the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band led by Dave Grohl at Golden Gate Park on Aug. 11-13, producers Another Planet Entertainment and Super Fly announced.

Festival organizers have been teasing fans with clues about the acts on this year’s Outside Lands bill via the festival’s social media channels during the past two weeks, slowly revealing the names of artists such as the 1975, Alvvays and Raveena. The full lineup for the 15th annual edition of the festival features more than 90 artists, including Diesel (Shaquille O’Neal’s DJ moniker), Lana Del Rey, Megan Thee Stallion, Zedd, Janelle Monáe, Orville Peck, Willow, Beabadoobee, Cuco and Maggie Rogers.

“When we started Outside Lands back in 2008, we had a vision to create a unique festival experience that had never been done before,” Allen Scott, co-founder of Outside Lands and president of concerts and festivals at Another Planet Entertainment, said in a statement. “Fifteen years later, Outside Lands continues to be a bright spot for the city of San Francisco and pushes boundaries in music, food, drink, art and cannabis programming, as well as providing space for environmental and social initiatives.”

Since its inception, Outside Lands has injected more than $1 billion to the local economy, Scott said.

Three-day general admission and VIP passes, priced between $449 and $1,029, are on sale now via www.sfoutsidelands.com. A limited number of Golden Gate Club passes, offering perks like front-of-stage and sky deck access and personal concierge services, will be available for $4,899.

This year marks the introduction of three-day “general admission plus” passes for $674, plus fees. The upgraded ticket includes expedited festival entry and access to restrooms with flush toilets, a lounge with complimentary water and soft drinks, and a full-service bar and food for purchase.

Inspired by the dance clubs in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood, the electronic music-themed SOMA Tent is slated to return for the third year. The pop-up space is expected to feature nine hours of performances each day with a lineup that includes Claptone, Justin Jay, Red Axes, Tinlicker, VNSSA and more.

The list of featured restaurants, wineries and breweries will be announced at a later date, as well as the schedule for programming such as Outsider Art, GastroMagic, Cocktail Magic and Grass Lands, which was the first curated cannabis experience at a major American music festival when it debuted in 2018.
