Judy Cassidy died peacefully in San Rafael on October 29, 2023 at the age of 88.

Born February 7, 1935 to the late James and Helen Haley.

Judy was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Francis J. Cassidy, who died in January 2014.

Loving mother to Marianne Brennan (Michael), Stephen Cassidy (Judith) and Frank Cassidy (Kelly).

Adored Grandma of Peter Brennan, Conor, Aisling, Brendan and Claire Cassidy, and Kate and Keira Cassidy.

Loving sister of Beverly Haley Buckley. Sister-in-law of Maureen Cassidy, Joe and Dolores Bondanza, Tom and Bridie Brawley, and the late Joseph Buckley, Helen and Leonard Meiswinkel, William Cassidy, and Rosaleen and Tony Adams. Dear friend of Nancy Cook. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Judy was a proud native of San Francisco. She grew up in the Sunset District and attended St. Anne of the Sunset Grammar School and Star of the Sea High School. Judy had a long career with Bank of America, mostly spent in downtown San Francisco.

Judy and Frank moved to San Rafael in the early 1960s and raised their children in Lucas Valley. They had a wonderful life together, making many friends in the community. Judy was a wonderful mother to her children and never missed attending one of their many activities growing up. She was a constant presence in their lives, and they loved her very much.

Judy was a parishioner of St. Isabella’s parish for over 50 years and a member of the Marin Irish American Club. She will be missed by many in the community.

Judy and Frank enjoyed a long retirement together, traveling the world with family and friends. Judy was a long-time 49er and Giants fan, and rarely missed watching a game. Her passion, however, was spending time with her seven grandchildren. She was fortunate to be able to watch them grow up. She was very proud of their accomplishments, but mostly proud of the good people they had become. They all loved her very much and will miss her dearly.

Friends and Family are invited to attend a Memorial mass to be celebrated on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Isabella’s Church, 1 Trinity Way, San Rafael.
