Raising Cane’s planning 3 more locations in the Bay Area
Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is gearing up to more than double its Bay Area presence over the next two years with three new locations in the South and East Bay.
Two new San Jose locations are in the works and currently set to open in late fall 2024 and in 2025, a company spokesperson confirmed to the Chronicle on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the long-awaited Hayward location is under construction and scheduled to open this summer.
The fan-favorite fried chicken chain first gave hints of a San Jose expansion in 2022, when it made a comment on Facebook promising two new locations coming soon.
Raising Cane’s did not share the exact location of the two new restaurants, but job openings posted online provide some clues. Two postings for general manager positions mention one location at the intersection of McKee Road and North Capitol Avenue and another at “Capitol & Asana,” though Google Maps shows a location nearby at 2392 Evergreen Place. Both locations are currently in the permitting process, according to the company spokesperson.
The Hayward restaurant, located near the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Harder Road, has been in the works since at least 2021, though its opening date has been pushed back several times. Cane’s also once had eyes on a Berkeley location, but later called off those plans.
San Jose would mark the brand’s first time venturing into the South Bay. Fans of the chain, or Caniacs, in the Bay Area can currently find its signature combos and sauce in Oakland and Vacaville.
