Angel Olsen is setting out on a trip down memory lane for her upcoming solo tour, and Northern California audiences get first access.

The indie rock singer’s Songs From the Archive Tour is set to begin at Gundlach Bundschu Winery in Sonoma on Sept. 8. She then plans to stop at a handful of intimate venues across the country before closing the tour in Red Bank, N.J., on Sept. 30. During the shows, Olsen plans to delve into her catalog and revisit deep cuts spanning more than 10 years’ worth of EPs and albums.

A ticket presale started Wednesday, April 17, and the general sale begins at 10 a.m. Friday, April 19. A dollar from every ticket sold will benefit the Voter Formation Project, an organization that strives to register and mobilize voters.

The “Shut Up Kiss Me” singer’s Wine Country show is expected to feature singer-songwriter Maxim Ludwig, with whom Olsen recently covered Lou Reed’s “I Can’t Stand It” for a collaborative tribute album to the Velvet Underground member titled “The Power of the Heart: A Tribute to Lou Reed.” The album is scheduled for release on Saturday, April 20.

Ludwig previously joined Olsen as a special guest on select dates of her North American Forever Fall Tour last year in support of her “Forever Means” EP, which consists of four tracks that didn’t make it onto 2022’s “Big Time,” Olsen’s sixth and most country-influenced album.

No stranger to Northern California, Olsen played at Outside Lands in Golden Gate Park in 2021 and performed at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley the following year along with fellow indie rockers Sharon Van Etten and Boygenius’ Julien Baker for their Wild Hearts Tour. Most recently, Olsen brought her Forever Tour to San Francisco’s Regency Ballroom for two nights in October 2023 before playing at the Crest Theatre in Sacramento.
