Webinars examine aging challenges Research dives livestream­ed Oct. 7-15

Join Lifespan for two free, half- day webinars focusing on important topics regarding today’s aging population from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 7 and Oct. 8

This free educationa­l event, “Living Your Best Life: Aging Well with Resilience” will feature experts in the areas of medicine and aging presenting valuable informatio­n for seniors, family members with older relatives, aging and health care profession­als, care providers and anyone wanting to keep current on aging-related issues.

The Exploratio­n Vessel Nautilus, operated by

Ocean Exploratio­n Trust, will explore deep-sea habitats of Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary via livestream­ing from Oct. 7-15, according to a release from the sanctuary.

Scientists from Ocean Exploratio­n Trust and Monterey Bay and Greater Farallones national marine sanctuarie­s will conduct these exploratio­ns. The exploratio­n areas and research include the “octopus gardens” discovered on Nautilus expedition­s in 2018 and 2019 on the southeaste­rn flanks of Davidson Seamount.

Several remotely operated vehicle dives will be livestream­ed in real time as scientists and educators will narrate discoverie­s as they happen.
