The Exploration Vessel Nautilus, operated by
Ocean Exploration Trust, will explore deep-sea habitats of Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary via livestreaming from Oct. 7-15, according to a release from the sanctuary.
Scientists from Ocean Exploration Trust and Monterey Bay and Greater Farallones national marine sanctuaries will conduct these explorations. The exploration areas and research include the “octopus gardens” discovered on Nautilus expeditions in 2018 and 2019 on the southeastern flanks of Davidson Seamount.
Several remotely operated vehicle dives will be livestreamed in real time as scientists and educators will narrate discoveries as they happen.
