Some area offices will be closed for the New Year’s holiday.

• County: County offices are closed Thursday and Friday. Some offices will be on furlough Dec. 28-31.

• Santa Cruz: City offices are closed and will reopen Jan. 4.

• Capitola: City offices are closed and will reopen Jan. 4.

• Scotts Valley: City offices are closed and will reopen Jan. 4.

• Watsonvill­e: Most city offices are closed and will reopen Jan. 4.

• Libraries: All branches of the Santa Cruz library curbside service will be closed and will reopen Jan. 4. The Watsonvill­e Public Library’s curbside pickup service is closed and will reopen Jan. 4.

• Schools: There will be no student instructio­n in Pajaro Valley schools. Instructio­n resumes Jan. 12. There will be no student instructio­n in Santa Cruz City Schools. Instructio­n resumes Jan. 6.

• Post office: Post offices are closed Friday.

• Santa Cruz Metro: Weekday service on Thursday. No Local bus service on Friday. Metro Paracruz: Weekday service on Thursday. Metro Paracruz: weekend schedule on Friday. Amtrak Highway 17: Weekday service on Thursday. No Amtrak Highway 17 service on Friday
