Lynn Oliver Gonzalez
Sept. 8, 1952 – Sept. 18, 2020
Former resident of Watsonville
Lynn Oliver Gonzalez was a loving & passionate person who cared deeply for her family, friends and her community. Lynn was the first born to Frank and Shirley Oliver and was a native of the Pajaro Valley.
She passed away at her new home in Shell Knob, Missouri of cancer, with her loving brother Michael Oliver at her side. Lynn is survived by her brother Michael, her niece Sarina Oliver, her nephew Billy Oliver, and best friend Diane McGeachy of San Jose
Lynn’s passion and talent for cooking developed during a portion of her carrier as a chef at several Lake Tahoe restaurants, and as head managing chef at the Squaw Valley Mountain Equestrian Center. She later expanded her love for exotic meal service with her catering business, “Taste on the Wild Side”, specializing in exotic meats that highlighted Bison Prime Rib and Ostrich steak. While a resident of the Lake Tahoe community she enjoyed skiing as her favorite sport.
Returning to the Pajaro Valley, Lynn contributed her talent and love for her community for more than a decade and offered her home and served her exotic wild game dinners as an auction item to most non-profit organization’s fundraising. In so doing Lynn contributed thousands of dollars over the years. She was very active as a past Watsonville Police Assistance Fund (WPAF) Board Member, and contributed greatly to the organization’s fund raising.
Lynn was also well known throughout the national poultry community as an advanced breeder, and distributor of exotic game foul know for color and conformation. She showed her poultry regularly at the Santa Cruz County Fair as blue ribbon entries.
Donations may be made in Lynn’s memory to your favorite Pajaro Valley Nonprofit Organization. A Celebration of Lynn’s life is planned and will be announced at a future date.
