Paving operation set on Highway 9

An overnight grinding and paving operation on Highway 9 in Ben Lomond begins Monday and will result in partial and full closures of Highway 9. This paving work will take place between Willowbroo­k Drive and Highlands County Park.

All work will take place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday: Motorist will encounter one-way reversing traffic control on Highway 9 between Highlands County Park and Coon Heights Road. Motorists wishing to enter Highway 9 from Lower Glen Arbor Road will be detoured to Upper Glen Arbor Road to access Highway 9.

Tuesday: Both directions of Highway 9 will be closed to thru traffic between Arboleda Way and Glen Arbor Road including the southbound lane and two-way left turn pocket between Lower Glen Arbor Road and Coon Heights Road. All traffic will be detoured through Glen Arbor Road. One-way reverse traffic control will be in place between Lower Glen Arbor Road and Coon Heights Road.

Wednesday: Highway 9 will be closed to thru traffic between Arboleda Way and Lower Glen Arbor Road. All traffic will be detoured through Glen Arbor Road. Motorists will encounter flagging personnel at the intersecti­on of Highway 9 and Lower Glen Arbor Road to stop traffic as work trucks enter and exit the work zone, and to keep traffic moving through the signal lights to minimize delays.

Thursday: Highway 9 will be closed to thru traffic between Arboleda Way and Lower Glen Arbor Road including the southbound lane and two-way left turn pocket between Lower Glen Arbor Road to just north of Willowbroo­k Drive. All traffic will be detoured through Glen Arbor Road. Motorists will encounter one-way reverse traffic control between Lower Glen Arbor Road and Willowbroo­k Drive.

Motorists are advised to expect delays of up to 20 minutes.
